Former Arsenal USA Players and Hit Doctor Students Play Key Roles in Their Teams’ Playoff and World Series Prospects This Year

Former Arsenal USA players and Hit Doctor students figure prominently in their teams’ chances of making the Playoffs and World Series this year. Featuring Davis Schneider, DL Hall, Mike Trout, Matt Thaiss, Anthony Volpe, Mike Ford, Jack Gelof, Joey Loperfido, Jack Leiter, and Zac Gallen.


In Toronto, Arsenal grad Davis Schneider resumed where he left off last year with another hitting tear that fueled a Blue Jays win streak and created a “Schneider Mustache Frenzy” in the stadium.

Fire-balling Lefty DL Hall, who was one of the main players in the Corbin Byrnes trade with the Orioles, started the Brewers season as the #2 starter until tendonitis sidelined him but DL should give the Brewers a lift when he returns.

Superstar Mike Trout is on the Disabled List indefinitely which has hurt the Angels’ chances of contending. He is making notable progress following surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee, which he underwent on May 3. Despite this encouraging development, his return schedule is still unknown.

Teammate Matt Thaiss has gotten more playing time lately and has provided some big hits for the Angels in recent games.

In New York, last year’s Gold Glove shortstop Anthony Volpe is off to a great start exhibiting both power and speed to go along with his dazzling fielding.

Mike Ford was traded to Cincinnati in the off-season and has added his powerful bat to an already potent lineup.

A’s second baseman Zack Gelof was one of the top homerun hitters in 2023 after the All-Star break. The Uva grad slugged 24 HRs in half a season last year as a rookie. Zack has already established himself as one of the best in baseball at his position.

Outfielder Joey Loperfido was called up in May to play outfield for the Houston Astros and immediately ignited an offense that rolled out its longest winning streak of the year. Joey figures to be a fixture in the Astros outfield for a long time.

Jack Leiter, a first-round pick out of Vanderbilt, made his MLB debut this year and after settling in has established himself as a dependable starter for the Texas Rangers for a long time to come.

Last but never least, Zack Gallen is once again off to a good start with the Arizona Diamondbacks and continues to be one of the best pitchers in all of baseball. Zack has always been a pitcher versus a thrower and his ability to locate all his pitches has made him a superstar in the age of so many “over-throwers.”
